How selling parts works

  1. Create an accountAn email address and a password. Nothing else is asked for up front.
  2. Add a partA photo, what it is, the cars it fits and a price. Two screens, and it saves as you go so you can come back to it.
  3. It goes on the shelfYour part appears on the parts marketplace and on your own parts page, which you can send to anyone as a link.
  4. Buyers reach youEnquiries come through Motifiti chat, or on your own number if you choose to show it.

You do not need to sell cars

A parts account is its own thing. You can list parts and nothing else, under your own parts name, and never touch the car side of Motifiti. Plenty of people sell parts every day and have never sold a car.

Part numbers, and the cars a part fits

A part number is the strongest thing you can give a buyer, because somebody holding the old part searches the number stamped on it. Put the superseded number in too and both find you.

One part can fit several cars, and you can say so. Every car you add is another search your part turns up in, which is the difference between one buyer and four.

Cuts, assemblies and kits

A nose cut, a half cut, a service kit. You can list the whole thing as one item, or list what is inside it with a name and a number for each part, so a buyer searching any one of those numbers finds the whole set.

What it costs

Nothing. Listing a part is free, there is no commission on a sale, and Motifiti never holds your money — you deal with the buyer directly.
